A complete path, not a collection of tips
IMRAD Academy teaches the craft of scientific and medical writing as a structured discipline. Seventeen courses take you from the foundations — scientific English, statistics and critical appraisal — through to full manuscripts, congress materials, systematic reviews, regulatory and pharmacovigilance writing, and ICH-GCP. Every course is built around worked drills rather than lectures, and the whole programme is assessed by two certification examinations: the IMRAD Foundations Certificate and the IMRAD Professional Certificate.
For people who read the literature but struggle to write it
Most learners are graduates in pharmacy and the life sciences — M.Pharm, M.Sc, BDS, BAMS and MBBS — who read journal articles comfortably but find writing two consecutive publishable sentences much harder. Their vocabulary is strong; their productive writing is not, and it is rarely anyone's fault: it simply was never taught. The programme is designed for those preparing for roles in medical writing, scientific publications and medical communications.
Diagnostic-led, and marked to the standard
Diagnostics first
Every course opens with a diagnostic that sends you only to the modules you are weak in — it exists to save your time, not to fill it.
Marked like an assessment
Answers are specific and sourced — feedback in the way a professional editorial assessment actually scores it, not generic grammar advice.
Standards, not house style
Taught to the sources that govern the work: the AMA Manual of Style, ICMJE, and the CONSORT, STROBE and PRISMA reporting guidelines, with ICH-GCP where documents require it.
Skill through practice
425+ quizzes and 150+ writing exercises across the programme, plus a capstone in every course — the writing improves because you write, correct and re-write.
Seventeen courses, two hundred and seventy-nine modules
Two certificates — IMRAD Foundations & IMRAD Professional
The programme is assessed by two stratified examinations — Foundations (35 questions across 7 domains) and Professional (50 questions across 10 domains) — each with a defined pass standard and per-domain minimums, so a pass reflects breadth as well as total score. Each certificate is a verifiable training credential, not an accredited qualification. Each credential carries a unique ID and can be confirmed on the academy's verification page, so an employer or institution can check that it is genuine.
Offered to colleges as a value-added certification
Departments can license the programme for their students by the academic year. Students work through the courses at their own pace, and the department gets a clear view of who has completed what and who has earned the certification — a documented, value-added credential to show for it.
